WATT Expands Leadership Team with Two Fuel Cell Business Development Veterans

Mount Pleasant, PA, October 18, 2017 — WATT Fuel Cell Corporation (“WATT” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce two senior additions to its business development team. Rich Romer joins the Company as its Vice President of Business Development and Bob Berger as Director of Sales. These hires dramatically increase the sales and business development capabilities of WATT and accelerate the Company’s evolution from product development to commercialization of fuel cell systems – increasing its commercial momentum in remote and recreational, micro grid, and small distributed generation power markets.

Romer brings more than 15 years of experience leading global business development functions in the energy industry, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing for GE Fuel Cells. Romer has significant experience working in the fuel cell industry, leading business development for some of the most highly recognized fuel cell companies in the US, helping to launch new products and driving market adoption. Berger has spent his more than 20-year career in sales and sales leadership in the energy and telecommunications industries.

“Rich and Bob will provide critical capabilities for leading WATT’s transition into our next phase of corporate development, specifically focused on commercialization through expanding the number of customer channels we serve and targeting high-volume and profitable deployments,” said Dr. Caine Finnerty, President & CEO of WATT Fuel Cell. Finnerty continued, “Attracting top-tier talent with experience in fuel cells and backgrounds at companies like General Electric and Siemens confirms the importance of what we have already accomplished at WATT. We are bringing to market technology and products that will set new performance and cost standards for the fuel cell industry – and WATT’s integrated hybrid power solutions will help to truly realize the promise of sustainable, alternative power generation.”

Among the characteristics that attracted both Romer and Berger to WATT was the Company’s flexible fuel platform for powering the ImperiumTM system. “WATT’s success in utilizing multiple fuels, particularly propane and natural gas, provides a significant commercial advantage. This removes the traditional constraints associated with hydrogen and methanol fuel cell systems and will enable us to focus on a much wider set of applications for ImperiumTM that have ready access to currently available fuels,” said Romer.

“We will continue to expand our team of engineering and business professionals in the coming months. Additional pilot program and partnership advancements are in progress, and we hope to announce more on these soon,” said Finnerty.
